Thoughts from My Perspective
Here are a few pictures of the animals in my life:

This is Cooper.  He is a black Labrador.  In this picture, he was about 18 months old (or so they told us).  He has been with us for 5 years and he really looks more like a 9-10 year old Lab.

This is Shadow; she is an Australian Shepherd.  This photo was taken last fall, so she was about 11 here.  She is 12 now.  The grey coloring is normal for Blue Merle and is not indicative of her age.  She was this grey as a pup too.  Her she was a little sad because I was in the living room and she knew she wasn't allowed beyond the threshold.

This is Milky.  In this picture, she was about 12 weeks old.  She is now 5.5 years old.  She is very inquisitive and certainly thinks she is the queen of the house.

This is Echo.  In this picture, Echo was about 10 years old.  He is 13 now.  When we found him he was just out of his egg and still had the mark on his lower carapace where the yolk sack had been.  Here he is in the backyard on the patio, but his home is in my son's room.

This was our Domestic Short-Hair, Smokey.  He passed away this past spring of brain damage due to a low blood sugar episode he had overnight.  He had diabetes since he was about 6 (which was about when this picture was taken.)  He died at 12 due to brain damage from a low blood sugar episode he had overnight.

This is Lauren.  She is a Honey Cream Gerbil.  She is very affectionate and friendly to people.  She doesn't mind me picking her up and playing with her, as long as she isn't away from her pups for too long.  She was born July 19, 2006.
